Inauguration of the world's largest ups production and testing facility

Nov 2009
EURO-DIESEL SA | Grâce-Hollogne, Belgium
# 09-R004

UPS Production and testing facilityWith exceptional growth over the past years, EURO-DIESEL, a global specialist in Diesel Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supply (DRUPS) systems and Generator Sets headquartered in Belgium, was reaching its capacity in terms of production volume.

Continued demand of the world’s most reliable DRUPS has led the company to invest in a major expansion of the organization.

In order to fulfill the company’s ambitious plans and to become the market leader in the DRUPS industry, a new state-of-the-art production and testing facility had to be designed and constructed.

This began with a project team being formed in early 2008 and the design parameters for a unique facility were laid down.

The aim was to achieve higher capacity, perfect logistics and improved efficiency while maintaining the most stringent quality procedures to ensure the highest reliability of the DRUPS systems. The key design of the building included a flawless system of raw material acceptance, comfortable and environmentally friendly testing areas where noise pollution is brought down close to zero as well as customer orientated and efficient shipping facilities.

The new facility’s surface area has been increased from 2700 m² to 6300 m².

The facility is also designed to test the plug and play NO-BREAK KS® systems, the group’s trademark UPS, starting from 100 kVA and all the way up to the multi MVA, high power rating systems. The NO-BREAK KS® has been serving in the most demanding applications such as IT centres, data centres, airports, hospitals and the semiconductor industry. EURO-DIESEL is capable of testing low and medium voltage systems at either 50Hz or 60Hz in the new facility.

EURO-DIESEL Manufacturing Facility

With 17 individual and double test-bays, including R&D and training test-bays, together with separated assembly lines, EURO-DIESEL has positioned itself as one of a kind in the DRUPS industry. All test bays are equipped with high-end testing and measurement equipment to demonstrate the consistent performance of the NO-BREAK KS® systems to the highest industry standards.

The world’s largest production and testing facility of Dynamic UPS systems is already in activity, with the official ceremony and Grand Opening held in October 29, 2009.

The inauguration of the world’s largest UPS facility, in conjunction with the company’s 20th anniversary, was received as a major industry landmark by more than 400 VIPs and esteemed guests from all around the world. Today, EURO-DIESEL has a strong network of partners worldwide, including subsidiaries in France, Germany, the UK, Singapore and the USA.
