ROTARY UPS

The first modern rotary UPS systems, using a kinetic energy accumulator, were created some 20 years ago as replacement to the heavy flywheel no break systems that were in existence until then.

The new technology immediately brought in numerous improvements and advantages, especially in terms of voltage and frequency holding up during transient periods.

Because of the perfect quality of its sine wave and the absence of sophisticated but fragile electronic components, the rotary UPS technology shaped itself up as a very strong competitor to the static UPS technology. Rotary UPS systems do not have the drawbacks of static systems - such as bad short circuit behaviour, low life time of batteries, etc.. - and show numerous advantages: higher reliability, automatic power factor improvement, increased efficiency, compact size, efficient filtration of harmonics, etc…

Moreover, the power output of single rotary UPS modules exceeds - and by far - that of static UPS systems, making them the only viable alternative for the protection of important critical loads (entire factories in the semiconductor industry or runway lighting in airports for example).

By its simple concept and clever design, the advanced  NO BREAK KS ® rotary UPS system developed by Euro-Diesel S.A. demonstrated its superiority when compared to its competitors. The performances of the product resulted in a rapid growth making of Euro-Diesel a key player on the market.

Another generic name often used for “rotary UPS “ is  “dynamic UPS”
