EURO-DIESEL (UK) LTD's integrated management system

December 2014

EDUK’s Management Team have condensed their individual Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policy statements to a single integrated policy of just one paragraph:

“It is the policy of EURO-DIESEL (UK) LTD to provide critical power solutions that exceed customer expectations whilst ensuring the Health & Safety of all persons affected by our business and minimising our effect upon the environment.”

To achieve the policy Rob Pitt, Managing Director, set the Management Team an objective of achieving ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard and BS EN OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Standard by the date of the next ISO 9001:2008 recertification.

It was fundamental to the objective that the three standards be integrated and form the core of our business processes.

The ISO standards are about process and continual improvement and provide a suitable framework for planning, setting objectives and targets to meet our Management Policy,

EDUK’s processes follow the total quality PDCA model (Plan, Do, Check, Act) developed by Deming and Shewhart.

EDUK first obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2008 and had its 3-yearly recertification assessment visit in October 2014.  As well as the recertification to ISO 9001:2008, the TUV Nord Assessment Team assessed EDUK against the ISO 14001:2004 and BS EN OHSAS 18001:2007 standards. The TUV Nord Assessment Team looked at EDUK’s processes for 3 man days and no non-conformances were documented against the Integrated Management System.  As a result, EDUK has achieved its objective of certification to ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and BS EN OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management System along with its ISO9001:2008 recertification.

Commenting on the additional certification Rob Pitt said:

“I take pleasure in announcing EURO-DIESEL (UK) Limited has obtained ISO 14001:2004 and BS EN OHSAS 18001:2007 certification in addition to ISO9001:2008 recertification. This represents a major achievement and something that we all should be proud of delivering. This demonstrates the value of introducing a robust Integrated Management System into our business during 2014.  It provides a solid foundation in order to exceed our customer expectations whilst ensuring the Health & Safety of all persons impacted by our business and minimising our effect upon the environment. It provides us with a real differentiator in the market place clearly demonstrating to existing and potential customers alike a culture of continuous improvement.

This achievement has only been possible as a result of a concerted team effort and individual contributions from each and every one of the EURO-DIESEL (UK) Ltd team in embracing this change in the way we conduct our business. A special mention goes to Terry Wearn – QHSE Manager for driving the introduction of the Integrated Management System and working towards achieving our certification.”
